Crafted in Umbria, a land where truffles are a cultural heritage and daily ingredient, this black truffle cream is born from the culinary traditions of the Alta Valle del Tevere. Combining local truffle hunting expertise with the region’s forest bounty, the recipe reflects the strong link between land and table in central Italian cuisine.
TECHNIQUE AND ARTISANAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Geofoods blends Tuber aestivum Vitt. (summer black truffle) with carefully selected porcini mushrooms into a smooth, rich cream. The truffles are harvested at peak ripeness, and the mixture is crafted to preserve their natural flavor and aroma without overpowering additives, ensuring depth, balance, and authenticity.
ORGANOLEPTIC AND NUTRITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
The result is a dark, velvety cream with a bold aroma of forest floor and umami. The black truffle’s nutty, slightly garlicky notes meet the deep, woodsy richness of porcini, forming a complex yet balanced flavor profile. Naturally rich in minerals and antioxidants, this tartufata is a powerhouse of both flavor and tradition.
CULINARY USE
Extremely versatile, the Truffle Black Cream enhances risottos, tagliatelle, roasted meats, burgers, gourmet sandwiches, and even eggs. A spoonful stirred into a dish at the end of cooking transforms everyday meals into a refined experience. Also ideal as a spread or bruschetta topping.

Geofoods is a truffle-specialist company based in Città di Castello (PG), founded by Vania and Giuseppe, who have been selecting and distributing high-quality truffles for over 40 years. Their philosophy is rooted in respect for nature, artisanal expertise, and a relentless pursuit of quality. Their network of hunters, collaborators, and experts functions like a family — united by passion and precision.
TERRITORY
Città di Castello lies in the Umbrian Alta Valle del Tevere — a Renaissance town surrounded by forests that produce Italy’s most renowned truffles. With its truffle fair tradition spanning over four decades, the area is famous for producing one-third of all Italian truffles. The local lifestyle reflects a deep relationship with nature, where truffle hunting is not only a culinary act but a cultural ritual passed down through generations. The region’s microclimate and soil composition make it ideal for wild truffle growth — including the elusive White Truffle, one of the world’s most sought-after ingredients.
